Counterfeit is a book about a young girl named Elena who has been living in an orphanage since she was a baby. She has no memories of her parents and she’s determined to find out who they are and why she was left at the orphanage. Along her journey, she learns about the dangers of counterfeiting money and how it affects all of those involved. Through this story, readers learn about the importance of honesty, integrity and responsibility while also exploring topics such as identity, self-discovery, and coming-of-age.
